BSEC Rounds 1 & 2 Canada Heights - 25/03/2014
This was a home event for us being by far the nearest any of the Championship events are held to us. It was therefore great to secure Pela Renet, 2012 World Champion, to ride under the Freestyle awning for these opening rounds.
The weather was kind to us and the track, as usual for Canada Heights, was in perfect condition. Rhian started her campaign with 2 third places in the ladies class but by the end of the second day she was matching the times of the second lady. All bodes well for the future rounds as she grows in confidence.
Joe had a great ride in the under 19 class with him and Brad Freeman streets ahead of the other riders in this class, in fact they should have both been well placed in the elite class.
Pela and Danny McCanney battled over the two days giving them both a great workout ready for the World Championship. Pelas smooth riding style was a masterclass in special test riding making it look effortless.
The team all chose to run Michelin comp 6 tyres for their exceptional cornering ability.
Freestyle next event will be The Tough One supporting Graham Jarvis at Hawkstone Park on 19th April.
Special mention to our sponsors:
Shoei crash helmets
DEP pipes exhausts
Madform physio and sport products
And a big thank you and well done to the whole Freestyle team especially those left in the shop.

Our guest rider Pela Renet worked his magic as expected and won both rounds. Joe Wootton came second in his class and Rhian George got third in the ladies despite fighting a nasty chest infection.

Graham Jarvis for Freestyle- Edy's Xtreme Enduro - 12/01/2014
This event provided many firsts for Freestyle, our first experience of Edy's Xtreme and our first event supporting Graham Jarvis, it was also the first event for Ben Wibberley in his career with Freestyle.
It was a very cold day, so much so 'The Rock Garden' was only attempted by David Knight and Graham Jarvis both failing to reach the summit feet up due to the ice covering the rocks, this section was removed from the course after the first lap of qualifying.
Graham qualified in 2nd with Ben managing to qualify in 17th place. With the diminishing light it was questionable at the start of the race whether it would run its full 2 and a half hours, the riders would just have to wait and see! The temperature had also risen meaning 'The Rock Garden' was back in the course.
David Knight came through in 1st place, McCanney in 2nd and Graham 3rd after the first lap, David had built up a lead of more than one minute thirty during the first hour. Graham increased his pace and began to close on David, until with 15 minutes to go he was only 10 seconds behind David.
The light held just enough that Paul Edmondson could allow the race to run the full length. The last two laps were tense as Graham attempted to close on David but Davids team had obviously warned him and he responded with more pace and managed to hold off Grahams challenge and took the chequered flag with Graham a close second.
This must be a great boost for Grahams confidence and he has proved he can close on David, he just needs to stay with him, which bodes well for Hells Gate
