Freestyle Race Season Final Review - 28/10/2014

2014 has been another great season for Freestyle. It started with Pela Renet gracing our awning in the first 2 rounds of the British Sprint Enduro Championship at Canada Heights where he dominated the competition. Pela went on to win the 2014 World title for Husqvarna.

It was at Canada Heights that Freestyles Joe Wootton realised there would be a season long battle with Brad Freeman for the U19 title. Both riders did not disappoint, however our Joe came out on top in the final results and became U19 British Sprint Enduro Champion 2014.
Joe also took the Expert British Enduro Championship title where he dominated at all rounds.

It was a disappointing season for Freestyles Ben Wibberley as he had to sit out for most of the year due to an injury sustained in pre-season practice in Spain. Work is already underway for his 2015 race campaign.

2014 also saw the Freestyle trials team make the annual pilgrimage to Fort William for the Scottish Six Day, where Freestyles Simon Bird picked up a 1st class award and Freestyles David Gilbert a 2nd class award.
In the Southeastern Centre Trials Championship, Freestyles Ashley Newberry is joint leader with 2 rounds to go. The penultimate round is on the 8th November, and with the final round being a couple of weeks later lets hope he can pull through and clinch the title!

As always a massive thanks to all our sponsors and all who helped set up, organise and run these great events. May 2015 bring plenty of excitement and competitive racing for all to enjoy and we wish you all good luck!

FREESTYLE BREAK IN - 05/09/2014

Last night (04/09/14) Freestyle was broken into. A stolen ford transit was driven across our fields, damaging electric fencing and up through the yard. Having crow-barred the door open they proceeded to load the brand new Husqvarna bikes into the stolen vehicle.

On hearing the alarms we were alerted to a disturbance and on discovering what was going on we proceeeded to call the police. Having been discovered they quickly scarpered back the way they came.

Colin then get into his car and followed them up Wadhurst road to take note of the license plate which helped the police then catch them on cameras and find out their where abouts. On realising they werent going to get away they abandoned the vehicle with bikes inside and escaped into another stolen car.

Hopefully with prints and DNA on the bikes and van we will be able to apprehend and prosecute the suspects.

Thanks to all who shared around the facebook status and a well done to Sussex Police for their quick action.

Race Report: Rounds 7 & 8 BEC at Cwmythig Hill - 02/09/2014

BEC- Rhayader, Freestyles Joe Wootton becomes British Champion

With heavy rain over night into Friday, all day Friday and most of Saturday at Cwmythig Hill this was going to be a tough enduro.
The club had obviously worked hard for sometime to put this event on, there was a lap of 40 miles around Parc Fermme, a MX test and a long enduro test at Saints Well.
This has to stand out as the best event so far this season.

Joe rode extremely well all weekend putting in some world class times. Joe has won every round of the BEC so far and winning both days this weekend has ensured he has clinched the title of British Expert Champion.
This week Joe travels to Czech Republic to compete in his first European round as part of the Welsh team. We then wait until the 4th & 5th October for the last two rounds of the British Sprint Championship, with the last round of the BEC to be on the 16th November.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors as usual and to all who helped put together the event.

MITCH

Freestyle welcomes new MX rider: Mitchell Lewis - 02/09/2014

Freestyles newest member of the team, Mitchell Lewis will be our sponsored motocross rider for the remaining 2014 and coming 2015 season.

The 16 year old Mitch has been riding motocross bikes since his early years and started racing age 7. The passion started out as a hobby for him and his father but has developed into a love of competative racing.

With good placings in MX Nationals and Maxxis, as well as dabbling in Enduro earlier this year he has proved himself to be an all round talented rider. Currently lying second in this years MX National he is showing great dedication and potential and we hope to help him up further the rankings with all the support and guidance the Freestyle team offers all its riders.

This weekend he will be competing at Preston Docks for the MX Nationals and we wish him all the best of luck!

Husqvarna Test day a huge success! - 21/08/2014

Huge thanks to everyone who came along or helped at our Husqvarna Test Day yesterday in Wales!

The day was a huge success, everyone had a great time and I hope we managed to get everyone a go on the bikes they fancied.

The rain held off nicely for the most part (a few scattered showers here and there but nobody got too wet) and conditions on the course were perfect. Joe Wootton even made an appearance at the end of the day to show everyone how it was done and have a practise.

Thanks again to everyone and we hope to see you in the shop soon!
